I Love This Song, Hallelujah

I don’t normally pay attention to Coachella (unless kasama sa lineup si Billie Eilish) pero nung nalaman kong may free live streaming pala sa YT, pinanood ko yung kay Justin Bieber. Sayang, late ko na nalaman kasi gusto ko rin sanang mapanood yung sa KATSEYE. Anyway, ang gusto ko lang i-highlight from JB’s performance ay nung kinanta nya yung Everything Hallelujah. First time kong mapakinggan yung song na yun and naiyak ako. It’s the way he sung it and how soulful it was—plus gospel vibes pa sya kaya parang may feelings of emotional release. And of course the lyrics!

FINALLYYYY! I finished my first book of 2026! I just finished reading Mating in Captivity by Esther Perel. Pero hindi ako ganun ka-happy kasi 3.5 stars lang sya for me. Since hindi ako magaling mag-review ng books, hindi ko ma-eexplain kung bakit ganun ang rating ko. Basta based from my reading experience, the insights, and the lingering impression after finishing the book, it feels like a 3.5 🌟

Romantics value intensity over stability. Realists value security over passion. But both are often disappointed, for few people can live happily at either extreme.

To Be.. Or Not To Be.. A Mother.

Meron akong ka-chikahan na friend. Kinekwento nya sakin yung conversation nila ng kapatid nya. Their shared complaint was, “Kelan ba sila magkakaanak? (kami raw and this other couple from our friend group) Tayo lang ba ang mahihirapan?? Hirap na hirap na tayo, etc…” Alam naman nya na decided kami ni Kenneth na ayaw namin magkaanak, but I think nabibilang sya dun sa group na nirerespeto nya yung ganung desisyon ng mga couples, pero hindi pa nya fully gets kung bakit. For them, being a parent is the default choice. Baka andun pa sya sa ganung level of understanding.

But it was enlightening. Sharing that conversation with me—between her and her sister—was an insight. May ganun palang thoughts ang ibang mga nanay. “Mag-anak na rin kayo para mahirapan na rin kayo tulad namin.” I get it. I don’t take it against her. Totoo namang nakakapagbigay ng comfort pag may kasama ka sa paghihirap. Pero karamay na nya yung kapatid nya diba? Bakit lahat dapat kasali? Dun papasok ang, “The more, the merrier.” Haha.

Artemis II

Tingnan mo, wala akong kaalam-alam, papunta na pala ulit ang mga tao sa moon! Lumalabas sa feed ko yung new pictures ng Earth from space galing daw sa Artemis II, pero wala akong idea na moon mission pala yun. Kala ko basta spacecraft lang na nagte-take ng photos. May tao palang nakasakay. Nag-start daw yung voyage nung April 1, at kung nakita ko man yun that day, iisipin kong April Fool’s joke lang at hindi ako maniniwala.

We tried new food spots, had a movie date with friends (we watched Wuthering Heights), and leaned heavily on food deliveries. So, expectedly, it was also the most expensive month thus far huhu. Cat Mom Tings

Nagiging pihikan nanaman yung mga pusa namin at bigla na lang hindi kinakain yung wet food nila. After doing some tweaks, iba yung saya pag nakikita kong kumakain na sila ulit. Every time nakikita kong ubos yung food bowl nila, ang satisfying.

Tapos kahapon, bumili ako ng bagong cat toy nila. Sa kanilang tatlo, si Almond lang yung masipag maglaro (kung sino pa yung may hika). Nagwo-worry ako dun sa dalwa kasi wala sila masyadong physical activity. Kaya nung nilalaro nilang tatlo yung bagong cat toy, sobrang saya namin. I really wish them a happy and long life please!

Kung nagkaron ako ng Pinoy movies phase last month, ngayon naman nawiwili ako sa mga foreign movies from the 2000s—especially rom-coms. Ito yung mga paborito kong movies in my early 20s. Grabe pa rin yung kilig ko sa Sweet Home Alabama at How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days kahit ilang beses ko na silang napanood. At dun sa mga tender moments, naiiyak pa rin talaga ko. Bakit wala nang ganitong klaseng rom-coms ngayon? Pumunta ko sa Reddit and the people have the same sentiments.
