Gleniz da MenaceI forgot who or what influenced me to read this book but I’m so happy, and also lucky, that I picked it up. I have no expectations. I have no prior knowledge of Mary Oliver. But when I started reading the first few pages, I was captivated. Her writing is so delicate and beautiful. There were lots of moments where I needed to pause just to savor the words. Where I find myself smiling and taking a deep sigh. This book calms me and invigorates me at the same time.
Dun sa binibilhan namin ng ulam, meron dung bolerang lola.
“Binagoongan po.”
(habang nilalagay sa plastic container yung ulam) “O, dinamihan ko na ito ha.”
Tapos medyo pushy sya sa mga paninda nila pero okay lang. Natutuwa lang ako sa kanya. Second time namin bumili sa kanila tapos sinabihan ako ni lola na muka daw akong artista. Kahit siguradong lahat ay sinasabihan nya non, sino ba namang hindi matutuwa haha. Makabalik nga dun bukas.
After reading a chapter, I placed Mary Oliver’s Upstream close to my chest. And this is the first time I’ve ever hugged a book.

It was Black Friday so the hardcovers are cheaper and almost the same price as the paperback. I don’t particularly prefer hardbounds to paperbacks because I find hard copies bulky and heavy. But I was in a I-want-to-try-something-new mood that day so I went for the out of the usual choice.

Iba ang tama sakin ni Mary. Nakaka-ilang pages pa lang ako sa libro nya, bumili ako agad ng physical copy. Sobrang rare ko bumili ng physical copy ng libro. Nire-reserve ko lang sya sa mga librong sobrang nagustuhan ko at plano kong ulit-ulitin. Tapos Black Friday pa nun so ang mura nung hardcover, swerte.
Ilang days na kong nag-f-French sa panaginip ko. Tuloy, ang bagal kong magsalita tapos paulit-ulit ako kasi hindi ko sure kung tama yung grammar. Hindi tuloy makausad yung nangyayari sa panaginip ko.

Aujourd’hui, nous allons aller dans un petit resto pour acheter des repas pour la semaine prochaine. Nous also need aussi de papier toilette, nous allons aller donc aussi au supermarché.
Good morning! I woke up early. It’s 6:00 AM. I know that my husband will wake up late, maybe 10 or 11 AM. Today, we will go to a small restaurant to buy meals for the next week. We also need some toilet paper so we will also go to the supermarket.
Finally nasa bahay na uli si Almond. Pag gising ko si Almond agad ang naisip ko at nag-download ako ng Messenger para i-check kung may sinend silang pics ni Almond na nasa bahay na, kaso wala huhu. Pero okay lang. At least alam kong komportable na sya at makaka-receive na sya ng madaming hugs and cuddles.
Tandang tanda ko nung elementary ako, nasa mall kami ng Mama (sa Ocean Palace Mall na wala na ngayon). Hindi ako yung tipo na nagpapabili ng mga laruan kasi alam kong di kami mayaman. Kaya gulat na gulat ako nung tinanong ako ng Mama kung ano daw gusto ko. First time ko narinig sa kanya yun tapos nasa mall kami! Di ako nagsayang ng segundo, tamagotchi agad ang sinabi ko.
