Micro library

I discovered this last July nung maganda pa ang weather at araw-araw pa kong naglalakad.

It took me more than a year, but I finally finished The Graveyard Book. When I started reading it, I stopped at 20%, paused for 15 months, picked it up again, then finished it in a week.

Every time I read a Neil Gaiman book, my initial reaction is always, “I don’t get this. This is out of my league.” But I learned that if I just keep going and let myself enter his mysterious world, I would eventually be enchanted by it. I have to keep this in mind whenever I start one of his books again.

I currently have 38 books on my ‘currently reading’ list and maybe that’s just how it is. Maybe each book has its own time and place (The Graveyard Book was gifted to me by my sister last Christmas of 2020!) and I’ll pick them up again when the timing feels right.

Thursday Letter #11 | Planner Season

It’s Thursday Letter on a Saturday! Also, you have full access to this post because you’re a paid subscriber. Thank you! 🤍

Love my new office space 😍

In the journaling and planner community, September is known as ‘planner season’. It’s when notebook brands start rolling out their new lineups for the coming year. Two of the popular ones I always look forward to are Hobonichi and Traveler’s Company (both Japanese companies).

It’s kind of like when Apple announces the new iPhone each year. I know I’m not going to buy every release, but I’m invested in seeing what’s new. It’s the same with these two big brands. It’s just so fun to browse the new cover designs and themes for 2026, and also temptingly look at all their planner offerings in different layouts and sizes. But in my heart, I already know the single thing I’m going to get. I know that I’ll be sticking with the same planner I’ve been using these last two years: the simple and uncomplicated Hobonichi Day-Free in A6 size.

But alas, I was wrong.

The Menace Bulletin No. 1

Welcome to The Menace Bulletin! It’s where you’ll find a curated collection of little discoveries, interesting tidbits, and all sorts of odd curiosities.

First edition is on the house, but I’d probably reserve future ones for paid subscribers *finger heart*

Steal like an artist

Austin Kleon is one of my favourite artists and I’m happy to see that he has a new podcast guesting! He’s a treasure trove of knowledge about other artists and is just filled with creativity wisdom. I like how he can almost immediately pull up a quote relevant to the topic being discussed and cite his sources at the same time—his most popular book is Steal Like an Artist but he doesn’t neglect to credit the artists he’s “stealing” from. I appreciate that about him. Because what I can’t stand is when people bring up an insight or copy an idea but neglect or forget to mention where they got it from. It doesn’t give the opportunity for curious consumers to explore and dig deep into the source. Well, the worst thing is passing off an idea as their own and that’s just plain sleazy. Not cool.

My big winner is Shuvee kaso na-evict na sya huhu.

Skip this grey text if you don’t watch PBB:

Thank youuuu!

Rating My Hobbies

Our lola (I love you!) really made sure na bukod sa academics, marami din dapat kaming extra curricular activities. Yung iba naman, sinubukan ko talagang seryosohin as my career.

I will enumerate lahat ng hobbies na pinasok ko and try to rate them. Tapos sa huli, I will pick a top 3 and list kung ano pa yung ibang interesting hobbies na gusto kong i-try.

What I Spend in a Week | Coloured Book Covers

You’re reading this because you’re a paid subscriber. Thank you! 🤍

It’s time to go back to one of my regular monthly posts. Dahil kahit malungkot tayo, tuloy pa rin ang paggastos—parang mas magastos pa nga pag malungkot.

Before we go to the weekly breakdown, Best Buy and Bye-Bye of the week muna:

Best Buy

This book is so interesting

Sayang.

I’m just extra grateful for music nowadays. It helps me function when it’s too overwhelming to move. Music carries the weight of the difficult emotions and transforms them into something more bearable.

Without music, life would be a mistake.
