My 6th book this month! Super duper proud of myself. Ngayon lang ‘to nangyari.
The first 20% is a struggle. Ang hirap talaga i-absorb for me. Pero unti-unti syang nagiging interesting and na-overpower nung plot yung writing style.
QUICK AND TAMAD SUMMARY:
And given the time period, I wouldn’t blamer her. In the process of finding suitable partners for her daughters, na-meet ni Elizabeth si Mr. Darcy. Good looking and mayaman si Mr. Darcy but Elizabeth hated his guts.

More than the story and Elizabeth’s dynamic character, super naging interestedo din ako sa way of living ng mga tao nung 1800s and yung nature ng pagiisip nila. Hindi ako fan ng period pieces noon; and iniiwasan ko talagang magbasa or manood ng mga ganito. Siguro dahil feeling ko unrelatable. May ‘prejudice’ ako sa kanila 😂 Pero this year may nagbago. Bigla akong naging open sa kahit ano. And super nag-eenjoy ako lalo magbasa.
START OF SPOILERS
Pero nakakatawa at the same time kasi nga ang exaggerated. And sobrang devious nya dun sa horseback ride tactic nya for Jane and Mr. Bingley. Lampake kung magkasakit yung anak nya. Sipon lang naman daw 😂
When it comes to my least favorite characters, kaasar si Lydia and Mr. Wickham.
Favorite dialogue from Mr. Bennet and another funny scene:
An unhappy alternative is before you, Elizabeth. From this day you must be a stranger to one of your parents. Your mother will never see you again if you do not marry Mr. Collins, and I will never see you again if you do.
In yo’ face Mrs. Bennet!
Haha so unexpected. Bigla na lang nag-“I love you.” San nanggaling ‘yon 😂

Isa pang favorite scene (another one involving Mrs. Bennet).
Good gracious! Lord bless me! only think! dear me! Mr. Darcy! Who would have thought it? And is it really true? Oh, my sweetest Lizzy! how rich and how great you will be! What pin-money, what jewels, what carriages you will have! Jane’s is nothing to it—nothing at all. I am so pleased—so happy. Such a charming man! so handsome! so tall! Oh, my dear Lizzy! pray apologise for my having disliked him so much before.I hope he will overlook it. Dear, dear Lizzy. A house in town! Every thing that is charming! Three daughters married! Ten thousand a year! Oh, Lord! what will become of me? I shall go distracted.
RATING [5 🌟]
I mean alam ko naman na may discrimination talaga noon sa women pero since exposed ako sa present time na lahat ay posible na for women, ang interesting lang basahin nung time na ang role pa lang talaga ng mga babae ay manahi, mag-entertain, magluto, maging mabuting housewife, etc.
Super entertaining. Engaging characters. It’s a classic for a reason.

QUOTES
Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves; vanity to what we would have others think of us.
Elizabeth: It is particularly incumbent on those who never change their opinion, to be secure of judging properly at first.
Elizabeth: The more I see of the world, the more am I dissatisfied with it; and every day confirms my belief of the inconsistency of all human characters, and of the little dependence that can be placed on the appearance of either merit or sense.
Naalala ko dito yung one of the ‘four agreements’, don’t make assumptions:
Jane: We must not be so ready to fancy ourselves intentionally injured. It is very often nothing but our own vanity that deceives us.
Bait talaga ni Jane.
