It’s been a while! There have been many things to feel unhappy about recently, but there were still moments to be grateful for despite the past heavy months.
Drawing our portraits
Kenneth and I went to a community market and saw Bea, my illustrator friend, with her sister, also an artist. They were selling art prints and other cutesy artsy stuff. Aside from the prints and stickers, her sister also offers 5-minute live portraits for $5, and that’s what caught my interest. We had our portraits drawn and it was super cute!

The following week while we were doing our couples deck session, we drew a wild card and it prompted us to draw each other’s portraits for only 1 minute!

Haha that was fun.
Vet visit
Went to the vet for Almond’s followup checkup (she has asthma huhu) and while we were on our way there, I said to Kenneth half-jokingly, “75 bucks nanamannnn..” Kasi $75 ang checkup fee ni Doc, and this is our third visit. Cashew and Walnut also went to the vet last time to get their vaccines, so pang limang $75 na namin ‘to (hahahuhu).

But after Almond’s quickie checkup and the vet saying she’s doing well, he followed it up with, “There’s no checkup fee.” as he walked out and closed the door. I’m not sure if I heard it right. Kenneth also said, “Ano daw sabi?” So when we went to the front desk to make sure we’re not going to pay today, the receptionist said, “You’re good to go.” Waaa we were so happy! Pwede naman pala yung ganun.
Free cookies

We finally used the cookie gift card Kenneth’s boss gave him months and months ago. Cookies by George is one of my favorite places to get cookies. When I first tried it, it’s very apparent that they use high quality ingredients. I loved the peanut butter chocolate chunk and the cappuccino-flavored one.
Piano lessons with sister
My sister bought a piano and she was so excited about it. I shared her excitement because I still remember the time when I finally bought a piano of my own. She was determined to learn how to properly play, but said that getting a piano teacher wasn’t in her budget. To me, it was so obvious, “Ako. Tuturuan kita.” She probably thought it would be challenging to have the lessons online, but I figured it’s doable.

And we did it! We had our first piano lesson and it was the first time I officially taught someone to read notes, explain the staff, G clef, bass clef, types of notes, etc. I super enjoyed it, plus my sister was a fast learner. I’m looking forward to our next lesson!
Gotong Batangas

Huhu I miss you Daddy.
Having the energy for workouts
I’m on my 2-month streak! This is the most consistent I’ve been when it comes to exercising. Please sana wag ma-jinx! I haven’t noticed any physical changes, my weight is still pretty much the same, but I see improvements in my energy levels and metabolism.

The moments when I’m especially proud are when I’m super duper lazy but still get it done. I’ll say to Kenneth, “Nakakatamadddd. SOBRANG NAKAKATAMAAAD.” as I’m grabbing the yoga mat in slow motion. There was even this one time when my workout was cut short because we had to go the vet, and I caught myself saying, “Nabitin ako.” Whatttt?? I can’t imagine associating the word bitin to workouts haha!
PS: Please, please, please (in Sabrina Carpenter’s singsongy tone) wag ma-jinx.
