The Other F Word

Dahil isa sa mga pain points ko during this season of my life ay making friends within our proximity, naaakit ng algorithm yung interes ko pag binibigyan nya ko ng mga content about friendships. Hence, it’s one of my favourite topics to talk about. May mga nabasa at narinig ako na tumatak sakin kasi sobrang naka-relate ako or talagang nag-resonate.

200 hours

(According to past research) we need between 40 and 60 hours together for an acquaintance to become a casual friend.

In order to move from casual friends to close friends, you need to spend an additional 140 to 160 hours together for a total of about 200 hours.

This Place Feels Just Right

Sya yung mas paulit-ulit about finally being here.

Interestingly, wala naman talaga sa wish list namin na makalipat ng Calgary. We really thought forever na kami sa Winnipeg (we lived there for 6 years). At kung sumagi man sa isip ko ang paglipat, sa Vancouver ko naiisip. Pero since hindi namin kaya ang cost of living sa BC in general, I just file that thought under my daydreams category. Until one day, bigla na lang kaming naging in-sync ni Kenneth at nagtuloy-tuloy na ang proseso ng paglipat namin dito.

Note: Eventually nakapasyal din kami sa BC, at Calgary pa rin talaga ang #1 for us. Oo maganda, pero ang mahal talaga!

Thursday Letter #4 | The Mountains Called

You’re reading this because you’re a paid subscriber. Thank you! 🤍

These past few days have been uncomfortable. I can’t wait to move into our permanent home. The cats are obviously uncomfortable too. I feel their uneasiness. We’re currently staying at an Airbnb which is a basement unit, so they don’t get to see any sunlight and can’t do their usual people and car watching from the windows. I feel bad. Don’t worry kitties. One more day! Although the first few days in the new place are guaranteed to be chaos with all the home organization and setup we need to do. All this moving really messed up with my system, and this dingy basement with all the artificial lights isn’t helping perk up my mood. I sure hope this will all be worth it.
