Dahil fresh pa ko from watching the Oscars, I was glad to see Michael B. Jordan win! Pero in terms of performance, si Leonardo DiCaprio ang pipiliin ko. Since my last post, I was able to watch One Battle After Another and Hamnet before tuning in to the Oscars. I’m just happy that I’m opening myself up to these types of films. Kasi mababaw lang talaga ang taste ko pagdating sa movies. Yung usual kong gusto ay mga low effort lang na hindi kelangan ng critical thinking. Yung for the sake of entertainment lang.

I think simula nung pinanood ko yung Anora at Poor Things last year, dun ako mas naging open. Dun ko na-discover na na-eentertain din pala ko sa mga ganitong klaseng weird films. And when I felt the buzz of Oscar season last week, I got invested at ginanahan ako ulit manood ng mga movies na hindi ko typically pinapanood.

Super nag-enjoy ako sa One Battle After Another (Sean Penn’s win was well deserved even though he didn’t care to show up). Yung Hamnet naman, I recognize na maganda sya at sobrang galing nga ni Jessie Buckley, pero ayoko pa rin talaga nung ganung ka-heavy na drama. Same with Marty Supreme, di ko trip yung ganung genre. Gets ko kung bakit sya naging blockbuster, pero hindi ko sya sobrang na-enjoy. Or di lang ako nagandahan sa story mismo? Or baka biased lang ako kasi medyo nagsisimula na yung pagka-annoy ko kay Timothée nun?
