January Recap

It’s officially winter. Tuloy tuloy na ang snow, dire-diretso na ang -20°C plus weather, at sobrang dry na ng muka ko kahit tinatadtad ko na ng moisturizer. Sobrang nakakatamad lumabas. January wasn’t that bad though. Naiisipan pa naming pumunta kung saan-saan. Ganado pa si Kenneth mag-drive. Pero ngayon, gusto ko na lang matapos ang winter. Miss ko nang maglakad at makakita ng madaming green.

As mentioned previously, January was like an extension of 2024. It was my time to reminisce everything that happened the past year, and wrap-it up by writing my annual posts.

JANUARY DIGEST

  • I’ve been doing my yearly highlights posts consistently since 2020 (with an outlier in 2017). In my 2024 Highlights, I listed 101 things that shaped up the year—big or small. While writing that list, I see that despite the sad news we received in June, which continued to affect us for months after, there was still so much to be grateful for (including finally having my favorite sweet and sour pork lauriat at Chowking and seeing Billie Eilish). What I am most grateful for though is Mama’s strong recovery after undergoing chemotherapy and surgery, which continues to amaze all of us, including herself.
  • Other annual posts include Holiday Season 2024 (our first Christmas in Calgary), and some new ones: My 2024 Planner Review (ditching a lot of journals this year), How Much We Spent in 2024 (record-breaking), and Gleniz da Menace Year in Review, where I listed and categorized all my blog posts last year.
  • Happy Things | Diaz Mansion Edition was like a love letter to our new house. My monthly Thursday Letter and Life Updates talked about my slight TikTok addiction and why I’m jobless.
  • Lastly, pondering on the things that I’m thankful for led me to write about a controversial topic, Atheist Problems.

Until next month’s recap! Thank you for reading 🤍
