I was doing my very late mid-year review a while ago (yet to be published) at after kong matuwa sa mga na-accomplish kong goals, na-stress ako after. Dun kasi sa 13 goals na sinet ko in the beginning of the year, dalwa lang yung fail, tapos isa na lang yung natitirang work in progress. So parang sa isip ko, isa na lang? Meron pang 4 months na natitira this year. Ano pang dapat kong gawin?
So kinuha ko yung notepad ko and I stressfully plan and list yung mga pwede ko pang gawin. Now that I’m writing about it, nakakainis na hindi ko man lang pinatagal yung pag-celebrate ko sa mga na-achieve ko. Hindi ko man lang pinainit yung celebratory mood.
And then I decided to read a new book. I randomly chose Yuval Harari’s ‘21 Lessons for the 21st Century’ at dun sa page 12, ang sabi nya:
Thinking about the big picture is a relatively rare luxury. A single mother in a Mumbai slum is focused on where she will find their next meal..
Ambilis nag-shift ng perspective ko. I acknowledge that planning for the future can be stressful, yet it’s also helpful to recognize that it is in itself a luxury that some people cannot afford. So tama na ang unnecessary stress at be thankful that I have the time and mental capacity to plan and set goals.
