This is a romance novel na may halong erotica. It’s about a rich girl (Chloe) na nagkaron ng near death experience so naisip nyang gumawa ng bucket list kasi feeling nya ang boring ng buhay nya. Sample nung items na nasa checklist nya ay ‘Go camping’, ‘Have meaningless sex’, and ‘Travel the world with nothing but hand luggage’. Enter this guy (Red, an artist) na tutulong sa kanyang ma-accomplish yung list nya.

Ang misleading ng book cover and blurb. Kala ko sweet and romantic yung story. Na may konting adventure kasi ang interesting nung list nya. Well, adventure nga naman kaso sexual adventure pala.
Nung simula, sobrang fun nung book. Super enjoy ko yung banters nila. Little did I know, may shocking surprise pala (page 100 onwards siguro ‘to).
START OF SPOILERS
This book made a U turn at around 40%. Sobrang naging korni at horny. Yung big chunk ng book is these two with their testosterones shooting up, always fantasizing about each other. Ang out of place nya lang dun sa tone nung book sa simula. Biglang naging mga hayok yung characters. Sobrang konting stimulation lang nauulol na sila. Ewan ko ha. Sign of aging ba ‘to kaya hindi ko na-enjoy? May mga parts naman na okay pero yung majority napapakunot ako kasi nga parang out of place and out of character. Hindi naging maganda yung transition from the cutesy banters to the steamy scenes.

Tapos hindi believable na 2 or 3 times napigilan ni Red na hindi i-sex si Chloe. Kasi based dun sa scenes na ‘yon and to think na super fina-fantasize nya every second si Chloe, napigilan nya pa rin. Hindi ako bumilib sa self control nya kasi hindi kapani-paniwala 😂
Red’s description is the super nice guy, very friendly to everyone. Pero pagdating sa dirty talks, hindi in line sa personality nya. Biglang naging commanding. Kaya parang gumulo. Tapos yun nga out of character yung choice of language nya. Basta hindi ako natuwa.
Sample nung dialogue ni Red:
So. You gonna let me slide inside that pretty pussy tonight, Chlo?
Blech. Who talks like this?
Mejo nawirdohan din ako na pumasok sa isip ni Red na i-flirt yung kapatid ni Chloe kahit pa-joke lang. Kaya siguro lalo ko syang hindi nagustuhan.
Pagdating sa ending, in fairness, yung ‘Get Chloe Back’ list ni Red was cute. Their breakup made me teary eyed. It was an okay ending. But I can’t dismiss the things I didn’t like.
Also, super duper hindi bet yung ‘Button’ na pet name. Every time sasabihin yung ‘Button’ pinipigilan kong mapa-roll ng eyes.

So in short: super entertaining and strong start, distasteful middle, kinda cute ending.
Trip na trip ko talaga yung first 30%. As in sobrang entertaining tawang tawa ko. Kaso from there, it went downhill. And honestly pagkatapos kong basahin, nalimutan ko yung reasons bakit nga ba ko naging interested basahin ‘tong book na ‘to. Parang nalimutan ko yung interesting elements nung novel. Kasi sobrang nagfocus yung book sa sexcapades nila. After ko matapos yung book, ang tumatak na lang talaga sa isip ko ay yung shock factor na hindi pala ‘to sweet and romantic. Wala naman akong problemang magbasa ng mature and steamy content pero feeling ko lang hindi na-execute ng maayos plus hindi ako fan nung dirty talks nila.
Kaya yun. Walang lasting effects yung fact na chronically ill sya at ang interesting ng jobs nila. Hindi na rin tumatak masyado yung ‘Get a Life’ list nya. Ang nasa isip ko lang after ko basahin, “Ano ba ‘tong nabasa ko. Bakit biglang naging porno.”
