READ THIS IF YOU…
- Want to read about a fictional rock band in the 70s
- Enjoy drugs and having sex with strangers (or reading about it)
- Want to be annoyed especially dun sa lead characters
And as much as a lot of people praised the audiobook kasi well narrated daw and multiple people yung narrators, ako naman, yun yung pinaka naturn off ako. Kasi itโs as if the characters didnโt mature. Yung stories na kinekwento nila happened decades ago so Iโm expecting na nagmature naman sila somehow. But the dialogue plus how it was narrated felt like their still in their teens. Parang sobrang pa-cool pa din nila lahat.

At since “binasa” ko ‘to through an audiobook, feeling ko lalong nadagdagan yung pagka-annoy ko. Two words yun pero sobrang annoying kasi. And yung nagrecommend sakin, 5 ๐ yung rating nya. Sorry kung hindi ko nagustuhan. Pero babasahin ko pa din yung isang book nya na The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.
START OF SPOILERS
Why would I like a book na yung lead character is a drug addict, a sex addict, and a cheating bastard. But he still gets his way kasi rockstar nga sya diba. Gwapo kasi eh tapos rockstar, magaling kumanta so patawarin na natin ganun? Camila bakit???
At yung isa pa. Dalwa kasi silang bida dito eh. Si Daisy Jones na mala-dyosa. Patawarin na natin na drug addict sya at kung ano-anong trouble and dulot nya kasi ang ganda nya eh tsaka sobrang hot and cool nya kase. UGH. Hindi talaga for me.
We love broken, beautiful people. And it doesn’t get much more obviously broken and more classically beautiful than Daisy Jones.
Blech.
All the while habang pinapakinggan ko yung audiobook, sumasakit yung ulo ko.
Hahaha galit?? So yung dalwang bida na ‘to ay one of the most selfish, self-centered, self-absorbed, conceited characters na nabasa ko.
RATING [1.5 ๐]
Iโm ready to give the book a single star pero umokey naman yung ending (medyo lang) so dinagdagan ko ng kalahati.
QUOTES
You can’t control another person. It doesn’t matter how much you love them. You can’t love someone back to health and you can’t hate someone back to health and no matter how right you are about something, it doesn’t mean they will change their mind.
But at some point, you have to recognize that you have no control over anybody and you have to step back and be ready to catch them when they fall and that’s all you can do. It feels like throwing yourself to sea. Or, maybe not that. Maybe it’s more like throwing someone you love out to sea and then praying they float on their own, knowing they might well drown and you’ll have to watch.
